Looking to provide your children with a memorable paddling experience? Rent a kids kayak from Hallstahammar and give them the opportunity to explore the beautiful waters of Strömsholms canal. With the option to end the trip in either Kolbäck, Westerqwarn, Strömsholm, or Borgåsund, you can tailor the journey to your preferences. No matter which canoe drop off points you choose to lock your kayak at, it’s easy to return using the local free bus, VL line 120! (Please note that the bus does not operate on Sundays.)
The flexible tour length allows you to adjust the adventure according to your children’s energy levels and interests. Let them take the reins of the paddle and discover new spots along the canal from their own kayak. With a child-sized kayak, they can feel like real explorers while an adult paddles in a separate canoe beside them.
You can start the tour at any time from our self-service rental in Hallstahammar, but if you prefer extra assistance, choose a time when the rental is staffed. Our opening hours are listed at the top of the page under “Hallstahammar Rental.” The rental price includes the kids kayak, a canoe trolley for land transport, a life jacket, paddle, spray skirt, and a laminated paddle map.

Our youth kayak “Tahe Marine Lifestyle Solo” is a small and easy-to-handle sea kayak for children up to 160 cm. It’s very stable thanks to it’s flat bottom, both during paddling and when getting in and out. The kayak is easy to maneuver because it’s quite short, so even the young paddler can easily turn it around. Just like our kayaks for adults, this one is propelled with a double paddle and has a spray skirt. The sprayskirt is a thin fabric covering the cockpit to prevent water splashes from getting into the kayak.
